Introversion and extroversion were mentioned by Carl Jung in his mental or psychological traits theory. People tend to combine features of both personality types in their everyday life, however, one of them is usually dominant. People may reveal it from how well they get on with new people and how they like to solve problems. Type of personality is especially evident when people try to cope with stress. Do they call a friend or try to handle situation ourselves when we are distressed?
Introverts pay major attention to the concepts in their head, their own ideas, and assumptions while extroverts live among people.
Type of personality is easily detected yet in the childhood. Extroverted children are more outgoing and seek for a company of peers while introverted ones are timid, shy, and afraid of communication with others. Some parents may think that kids will overcome their social isolation as they grow up, nevertheless, adult introverts can be distinctly differentiated from extroverts.
Introversion and extroversion are not merely lasting behaviors. Once they have formed, they usually remain with individuals for life. Introverts will find it unnecessary and extremely difficult to spend more time with others and enjoy communication. Introversion may be beneficial but it is frequently harmful. People who prefer to spend most of their time alone become depressed while working in groups or having a job which requires communication. The quality of their life drops when they become upset by the fact that they have no friends.
Introversion is probably linked to poor socialization and stressful events which happened between a child and their social environment. Becoming adults, people usually realize that social interaction is essential, but realization frequently does not make inclusion easier.
