There is no doubt that divorce is definitely not a pleasant experience. It is most likely going to be a hard time both for parents and for children no matter how much they try to make it as easy as possible. The thing is divorce represents a family falling apart. Even though it has probably been a reasonable decision which the parents have mulled over a thousand times, a lot of children are not quite ready to process it no matter how old they are. And they should not be blamed for that.
Besides, it is important to mention that some teenagers are most likely going to misbehave or make some questionable decisions as it is the only way in which they can deal with stress. Surely, it does not help the parents in any way but teenagers are not quite able to get a hold of their feelings and act reasonably. Parents’ divorce is a huge change in their life, especially at that period of time when they are supposed to be preoccupied with school or hanging out with their friends.
